Inside Christ the Word Catholic School

Over 900 pupils have been finding their feet in a brand new 3-16 school in Rhyl this month as Christ the Word Catholic School opened its doors for the first time.  The Daily Post was offered behind the scenes access during the Summer Holidays and was also on hand for the first day of term where headteacher Amanda Preston and pupil Dora Monoki sharing their thoughts on the new school site.

Replacing Ysgol Mair and Blessed Edward Jones schools, Christ the Word will house 420 pupils aged three to 11 and 500 pupils aged 11-16.  Pre-school childcare facilities will also be in place in what has been described as a “community focused school”.  You can read the original Daily Post article, which includes several photos of opening day, by clicking here.
