Excell takes on Snowdon for Macmillan

Published on: Thursday, 18th Apr 2024

13The Excell team were joined by supportive candidates and friends on Saturday for a hike up Snowdon raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. The sun was shining and armed with rucksacks and Joe (Adam’s dog!) the hikers set off on the 9 mile Llanberis path.

Lyndsay initiated the sponsored walk for a reason very close to her heart. She explains; “My sister in law lost her battle with cancer in December and her last few treasured weeks were spent in Derby Royal Hospital on the Macmillan ward where the support and strength of the nurses there have motivated me to raise funds for such a worthy cause”.

The summit which is 1,085 metres (3,560 ft) above sea level,  was in cloud but it was a huge achievement for all making it to the top as the hike up, at times was extremely challenging. We had a break half way for a sugar boost and a cup of tea for Kevin! The views coming down were postcard picturesque.

Lyndsay said “It was a very emotional day but amazing to have such strong team spirit from those involvedRuth would have been extremely proud. It was nice spending time with everyone away from work and I hope to start planning our next fundraiser soon!”

Collectively we have raised well over £1500 so far for a very worthy cause.

It’s not too late!!! Please see Lyndsay’s donation page if you would like to make a donation:
