Macmillan Cancer Fundraiser

Carol, Wrexham & Shropshire Account Manager for the Excell team has braved the shave!

The ‘Brave the Shave’ campaign is run by Macmillan Cancer Support to raise money to help those affected by cancer. It involves people volunteering to get their hair cut very short, or cut off completely, in order to at least partially replicate the experience a cancer patient goes through when they experience hair loss during treatment. Friends, family and other generous people sponsor them money which all gets sent to Macmillan for them to put towards buying equipment and support services for cancer patients.

Carol raised over £1,000 and is thrilled with the response to her deciding to shave all her hair off.  “I thought the initial £500 target was ambitious, when I reached over a third of it in the first week I was truly blown away by the generosity of everyone who donated.  I decided to raise the target and really push myself to hit it.  I’m so overwhelmed by the charity everyone has shown and I am so happy I could go over double my target, truly unbelievable!”

You can still sponsor Carol here. Every small donation will help, and don’t forget to gift aid your sponsorship!
